Privacy & cookie policy
Your documents stay on your own device. The VerumVault AVG anonymisation tool works entirely locally in your web browser. Texts and files (such as PDF or Word files) that you paste or open are processed in your browser and are not sent to our server or to third parties. We do not store your documents and cannot view them.
1. Who is responsible?
This website is offered by Francesco Zerbonia (VerumVault AVG). For questions about privacy, please contact [email protected].
2. Which data do we process?
- Content of your documents: none. Processing takes place exclusively locally in your browser.
- Technical data: with every visit, the hosting and network services receive technical data such as your IP address, browser type, time and requested page. This is necessary to deliver the website securely and reliably.
- Advertising data: when Google AdSense ads are active, Google and its partners may use cookies and similar technologies (see section 4).
3. Hosting via Cloudflare
The website is hosted and protected via Cloudflare (Cloudflare Pages and the Cloudflare network). In doing so, Cloudflare processes technical data such as IP addresses to deliver the site, protect it against abuse and attacks, and improve performance. Cloudflare may set functional/security cookies for this purpose. Cloudflare acts as a processor and may process data outside the EEA on the basis of appropriate safeguards, such as the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and standard contractual clauses. More information: Cloudflare's privacy policy.
In addition, the page loads helper libraries and fonts from external content delivery networks (including cdnjs/Cloudflare, unpkg, cdn.tailwindcss.com and Google Fonts). When these are loaded, these services receive your IP address and browser data; your documents are not sent along.
4. Google AdSense advertising and cookies
To keep offering this free tool, this website shows advertisements via Google AdSense (Google Ireland Limited / Google LLC). For this, the page loads the AdSense script from pagead2.googlesyndication.com. Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads based on a user's previous visits to this and other websites. Advertising cookies enable Google and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet (personalised advertising).
- Consent: in accordance with the GDPR, the Dutch Telecommunications Act (Telecommunicatiewet) and Google's EU user consent policy, we and our advertising partners do not place non-essential advertising or tracking cookies without your prior consent. On your first visit we ask for that consent via a cookie notice (a Google-certified consent management platform). You can change or withdraw your choice at any time.
- Non-personalised ads: if you do not give consent, limited or non-personalised ads may be shown, based on context (such as the content of the page) rather than your browsing behaviour.
- Opting out: you can turn off personalised advertising via Google's ad settings or via youronlinechoices.eu.
- More information on how Google uses data: How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
You can also block or delete cookies at any time via your browser settings. The anonymisation tool itself will keep working.
5. Legal bases and retention period
We process technical data for hosting and security on the basis of our legitimate interest in a secure, working website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). We only place advertising and tracking cookies on the basis of your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). We ourselves do not keep personal data longer than necessary; you can find the retention periods of Cloudflare and Google in their privacy policies.
6. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection. You can withdraw consent you have given at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing before the withdrawal. Send your request to [email protected]. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.
7. Changes
We may amend this policy, for example when advertising is activated or services change. The date at the top indicates the latest change.
