VerumVault AVG — Universele Brief & Document Anonimiseerder

🔒 100% Lokale Browser-Beveiliging starten — Made by Francesco Zerbonia...

How VerumVault works: anonymise documents in 3 steps

  1. 1Paste or open your document

Paste the text of your letter or open a Word, PDF or text file. The file is read in your own browser.

  2. 2Check the labels

Names, ID numbers, IBANs, addresses, phone numbers and case numbers are replaced with labels such as [PERSON_1]. Something missed? Mark it yourself.

  3. 3Share safely and restore

Copy the safe version into ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini. Paste the answer back and restore the real data locally.

Why anonymise before you share a document?

The GDPR requires you not to share more personal data than necessary (data minimisation, Article 5 GDPR). Pasting a letter with names, ID numbers or IBANs into an AI chatbot shares that data with an external party, and data protection authorities have warned that this can lead to data breaches. Pseudonymising first gets you the same help without putting your own or anyone else's privacy at risk.

Privacy: everything stays in your browser

VerumVault runs entirely locally. Your text and files are not uploaded, not stored on a server and not seen by us. The link between labels and real data (the Token vault) exists only in your own browser. Read more in our privacy and cookie policy.

Frequently asked questions

Is VerumVault free?

Yes. You can use the tool for free, without an account. The site is supported by ads.

Are my documents uploaded?

No. Detection and replacement happen in your own browser. No text or file is sent to a server.

Which files can I open?

Word files (.docx), PDFs with a text layer and text files (.txt). A scanned PDF without a text layer cannot be read.

Is this anonymisation or pseudonymisation?

Because you can restore the real data later, it is pseudonymisation. Read the difference in pseudonymisation vs anonymisation.

Does the tool detect everything automatically?

No tool is perfect. Always check the preview and mark any missed words yourself.

Which languages does it support?

Dutch, English, German and Italian documents, including for example German tax IDs and Italian codici fiscali. Always check the result yourself.
